A painting based on two of the birds that come to my backyard feeders and suet holders. By the way, the larger of the two, named "red-bellied woodpecker" was somehow misnamed, as it does not have a red belly, but does have a red head. However, there is another red-headed woodpecker already.
It created specifically to be donated to the Artsbank of Elkins, WV. The funds raised by their annual art auction go to support arts in the Randolph County Public Schools.
My philosophy of art is simple: I paint what I find fun or inspiring; if someone else is moved by it, that's great! I derive great joy from selling my original paintings to people who truly love them! Since 2015 I have been giving most of my original paintings to non-profit community-building and religious organizations to assist in their fund-raising efforts via a new effort I have started called Art is Mission (AiM).
