This work is based on a photo the artist took of two trees along the shore of Lake Sherando in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. A comment by someone viewing that photo became the inspiration for this painting, "This reminds me of good friends embracing." It will be donated to the ArtsBank charity in Elkins, WVA.
My philosophy of art is simple: I paint what I find fun or inspiring; if someone else is moved by it, that's great! I derive great joy from selling my original paintings to people who truly love them! Since 2015 I have been giving most of my original paintings to non-profit community-building and religious organizations to assist in their fund-raising efforts via a new effort I have started called Art is Mission (AiM).
